Bulk vending machines launched this vending
manufacturer 75 years ago, with the introduction of the peanut bulk machine.
Our founder F.A Wittern Sr. utilizes his mechanical expertise in designing a
high quality bulk candy machine into the vending industry.
1931
-
Right after the Great Depression when there were
no jobs to be found, F.A. Wittern Sr. engineered a small peanut bulk vending
machine to sell to local bars. This unit was unique in its design, because it
had the ability to differentiate between coin currency and slugs.
Late
1930's -
Iron Casting became expensive to manufacture. We
started to manufacture our gumball machines with sheet metal. This provided
us the opportunity to vend more than just candy, gumball, or peanuts; we
could now vend items like matches through a bulk vending machine.
1945
-
Bulk vending machines were still changing in our
industry. You would see different shapes and sizes. But bulk vending machines
needed a novelty to entice the patron to purchase. We used a lottery
mechanism in our bulk vending machine that would create a form of excitement
to the location.
1990's
-
Candy Bulk machines became more than just a
vending machine that dispenses a gumball. We contracted with several
different manufacturers of gumball machine during the 1980's. These units
would dispense a gumball down a screw type slide and then to the customer.
